For years, NCI-Datacom has helped keep homes and businesses connected across north-central and northeastern Washington. Today, we’re excited to announce the next chapter in that story: NCI-Datacom is now part of Core Fiber.
The name may have changed, but the commitment behind the service hasn’t.
NCI built its reputation by serving communities too often overlooked by larger internet providers, delivering fixed wireless and fiber connectivity across rural Washington. Today, that footprint includes communities such as Omak, Okanogan, Brewster, Tonasket, Republic, Colville, Kettle Falls, and Valley, where Core Fiber continues to provide connectivity for homes and businesses.
That’s exactly why NCI is such a natural fit for Core Fiber.
Building on a strong local foundation
Core Fiber is focused on bringing reliable internet to communities where great connectivity can make an especially meaningful difference. We believe customers should be able to count on their connection, understand the service they’re getting, and reach a real person when they need help.
Those priorities are already familiar to NCI customers. NCI has long emphasized local service, round-the-clock technical support, and connectivity designed for the realities of rural Washington.
Becoming part of Core Fiber allows us to build on that foundation.
Over time, customers can expect continued investment in the network, technology, and customer experience, while keeping the local focus that has made NCI an important part of the communities it serves.
More possibilities for connected homes and businesses
NCI has historically provided a mix of fixed wireless and fiber service, depending on where customers live. That flexibility matters in a region where significant distances can separate homes, farms, businesses, and communities and where traditional wired infrastructure isn’t always practical.
Fiber brings tremendous capacity, reliability, and symmetrical upload and download speeds where it’s available. At the same time, modern next-gen wireless makes it possible to extend dependable broadband into areas that can be difficult to reach with cable.
As part of Core Fiber, the goal is to keep expanding what’s possible: stronger networks, better connectivity, and more ways for customers to work, learn, stream, run their businesses, and stay connected from home.
Same local commitment. A new name.
We know that a change like this can naturally lead to questions for existing customers.
The most important thing to know is that NCI’s transition to Core Fiber is about building on what’s already working, not leaving it behind. Core Fiber’s approach centers on reliable service, straightforward answers, and support that feels accessible rather than distant or corporate.
That means keeping the people we serve at the center of the experience.
NCI is now Core Fiber, and we’re excited about what comes next for our customers and communities across Washington.
Welcome to Core Fiber.
FAQs
Is NCI-Datacom now Core Fiber?
Yes. NCI-Datacom is now part of Core Fiber and is transitioning to the Core Fiber name. While the brand is changing, Core Fiber says the goal is to preserve the service and local connections NCI customers already know while building toward the next stage of the network.
Is my internet service changing?
The transition to Core Fiber doesn’t mean customers need to find a new internet provider. Core Fiber will continue serving NCI communities with fiber and fixed wireless internet, depending on availability in each area.
Will I still be able to get help when I need it?
Yes. Personal, accessible customer support is central to Core Fiber’s approach. Core Fiber emphasizes real-human support and assigns customers a “Core Advocate,” a dedicated rep from smaller US-based communities who can serve as a consistent point of contact when they need assistance.
Will Core Fiber continue investing in this area?
Absolutely. Core Fiber is currently moving forward with a BEAD-funded broadband deployment throughout north central Washington state, where broadband options have historically been limited. These projects are currently in the works and are slated for completion by the end of next year. But we continue to invest in upgrades and improvements throughout our coverage areas.
What does becoming part of Core Fiber mean for the future?
Joining Core Fiber brings NCI into a larger network focused on delivering reliable connectivity to the communities it serves. Core Fiber’s broader approach combines fiber and next-generation wireless technology with an emphasis on dependable service, straightforward communication, and local support.
