Fast internet has always been about more than a speed test.
It’s the video call that doesn’t freeze. The business systems that stay online. The movie that streams without buffering. The home network that helps keep connected devices secure. And when something does go wrong, it’s knowing there’s someone you can actually reach.
That philosophy has helped Hyak serve homes and businesses across Oregon with high-speed connectivity, network services, security, and customer support.
Now, Hyak is part of Core Fiber.
The name is changing, but the goal remains familiar: deliver dependable connectivity backed by the technology and people customers need to get more from it.
Building on what Hyak already started
Hyak has helped bring high-speed connectivity to communities along Oregon’s central coast, including Florence, Mapleton, and Dunes City.
For many customers, that meant more than simply having an internet connection. Hyak paired connectivity with services designed to support the broader needs of homes and businesses, including security, network management, and customer support.
Core Fiber shares that same broader view of connectivity.
A great internet experience starts with a fast, reliable network, but it doesn’t end there. The equipment inside the home or business, network security, Wi-Fi coverage, and access to knowledgeable support all play a role in whether that connection actually works the way customers expect.
Bringing Hyak into Core Fiber allows us to build on that foundation with additional resources, technology, and continued investment in the communities we serve.
More ways to keep Oregon homes connected
The demands we place on our internet connections keep growing.
Households may be streaming several shows at once, joining video meetings, gaming online, backing up files to the cloud, and running smart-home devices in the background. For many people, even television itself now arrives through an internet connection.
Fiber is an ideal way to deliver that capacity directly to homes and businesses. Core Fiber continues to offer fiber service in Oregon communities including Florence, Mapleton, Dunes City, and Prineville. In parts of Oregon where running fiber directly to every property is more difficult, Core Fiber also offers next-gen wireless internet. Core Fiber’s wireless service extends dependable broadband to areas where traditional wired infrastructure is harder to build.
Whether the connection reaches a home through fiber or next-gen wireless, the goal is the same: give more Oregon households and businesses a connection capable of keeping up with the way they use the internet today.

The next chapter for Hyak customers
The internet has become essential infrastructure for Oregon homes and businesses, and the demands placed on it will only continue to grow.
Homes are adding more connected devices. Businesses are relying more heavily on cloud applications. Streaming continues to replace traditional television. Remote and hybrid work have made dependable connectivity even more important.
Core Fiber is building networks and services designed to keep pace with those demands, with a growing Oregon footprint that includes both fiber and next-gen wireless communities.
Hyak joining Core Fiber gives us an opportunity to keep building on the network, services, and customer relationships already established across Oregon.
A new name. More resources behind it. The same commitment to keeping customers connected.
Welcome to Core Fiber.
